Karma ~ Is it Real or Not?

By Leean Lester

I am a firm believer in Karma. There are some folks that you find that don’t believe in such things. There is an old saying, “What goes around, comes around,” or, “You reap what you sow.” In other words, what you do in life comes back, depending on the kind of choices you make, whether those choices are good or bad.

Say you provide a service for someone and expect payment, then come to find out they decide not to honor that agreement. They feel that you did not provide the service they were expecting, or that it wasn’t satisfactory, so therefore you’re not entitled to payment. This kind of thing does happen often, so when it does happen, what do you do?

When this happens to me, I try to find out why the client is unsatisfied. Then I try to resolve the matter, if possible. There are times when it’s not possible to reach a resolution, and you have to just let go, and move on.

I try to keep in mind that it is their karma, and they will have to deal with the consequences of the choice they have just made. As far as I’m concerned, I did provide a service for them. If they did not hear what they wanted to hear, then that either means the person was not open to listening to what I was saying, or that they were not ready for whatever message was there.

There have been clients who have written me bad checks or promised that they would pay me later, only to leave the issue unresolved. Then later down the road, they will come to me for a reading and I will have to remind them of the past due account and inform them that until it is resolved, I will not be able to do any readings for them. Business is business, and they have to understand that there are principles and guidelines for running any business, be it large or small.

Later down the road, I sometimes hear through the grapevine that this particular client has run into a “streak of bad luck” if you will, and they don’t understand why that’s happening to them. Could this be their karmic payback? No one can really say for sure. Only…if you believe in karma, you might find it to be the most logical reason for such an incident.

So, do you believe in karma? If you do, then be careful what choices you make and be aware of how karma can affect you or those around you. If you don’t believe in it, then how would you explain why sometimes bad things can happen to good folks for no reason at all? Is there really such a thing as karma or not? You be the judge and decide for yourself. But remember this little note: there are some things that just are and can’t really be explained.  These things have been around for eons, and probably will continue to be. It’s just one of the mysteries of the unexplained and one of the universe’s secrets that mayor may not in time be revealed.

Until next time, may the universe hear your requests and grant you what you need. Many blessings, and remember life is about choices and what you make of them. There are no really wrong or right answers, only choices and the after-effect, karma.
