December Forecast

By Adrienne Abeyta

Aries

Justice (3 of Pentacles)

Every thought, action and deed has an effect that leaves an imprint on you and your environment. Keeping this golden rule in mind, be conscious of what you expend your energy on. Mindfulness should be the guiding principle in your life; this month, in particular, your ability to remain so will be tested. At work, you may encounter several chances for self-development. Create ways of working in harmony with others, even if you don’t like them. Your actions will be scrutinized if you’re not careful. Finances and job opportunities become more plentiful and require more responsibility. Remember to stay grounded.

Taurus

Death (2 of Wands)

Change and a feeling of restlessness are in the air. Something’s about to happen; what that is depends on the choices you make. The contradiction, however, is that you must harness your personal power while allowing yourself to surrender to the experience. An alliance you thought was beneficial will show signs of dishonesty. Rather than fighting this, let it be. You’ve been limiting your self-expression in order to keep the peace. Sometimes to see yourself as you truly are, you must give up the things you’re attached to. Another opportunity will present itself when you’re free from baggage.

Gemini

World (4 of Swords)

Give yourself a rest this month. Rather than rushing around, take opportunities to relax. There will always be obligations and tasks to complete, but if you’re frazzled, you won’t perform at your best. Stress is probably the number one cause of illness and mental fatigue. If you’ve been dealing with either of these, consider creating new habits to support your wellbeing. Whatever problems you’re facing right now will be solved by looking within. Although the outcome may not always match your expectations, the conflict is quieted by taking time for reflection. This month is also an important time to tie up those emotional loose ends. You’re doing no favors by pretending.

Cancer

Tower (Page of Cups)

A flash of insight can start a chain reaction when what you believed to be true is not only challenged, but proven to be false. It’s natural to assume that core beliefs are true, especially when there’s a personal history attached. Just because you’ve always believed something doesn’t make it real. You may be devastated when you find out that a cherished dream is no longer within reach. This shock will likely cause a feeling of disorientation. But rather than emotionally detaching from the experience, trust your Higher Self to handle the situation. Through the vulnerability of this experience, you will gain new levels of trust, both in yourself and others.

Leo

Strength (4 of Pentacles)

In your attempt to establish yourself in the world, you’ve depended upon the strength of your character to survive. It’s time to bring forward and utilize some less-refined qualities. You are a mixture of many different characteristics, none of which is wholly good or bad. However, choosing to adopt one over the others banishes important parts of yourself. Maintaining the status quo may be important at times, but it can easily breed complacency and deprive you of a dynamic life. Loosen your hold and give in a bit to the pressure – at least then you can mindfully unleash some pent up passion.

Virgo

Magician (Nine of Pentacles)

You've got the magic touch this month. Focused energy and strong resources give you the power to create abundantly in several desired areas. The time is right for the fruits of your past labors to be plucked, but if you procrastinate, your harvest will spoil and rot. No need to question whether you deserve this or that, receiving is as important as giving. Follow through with your current projects and obligations, and be prepared to see big changes. Be mindful not to overspend your earnings on trivial souvenirs. On a personal note, be sure to honor someone's seemingly small achievement; your recognition will give them the confidence they need to keep going.

Libra

Devil (Queen of Wands)

Pride can obscure your ability to see the truth, especially when your independence prevents you from accepting the support of others. You don’t always need to be the rescuer; in fact, sometimes by accepting help, you allow others to recognize their own compassion. Detach from your need to be perceived as strong and you will begin to feel the deep love you desire. In doing so, you will likely face your vulnerability as well. Take note of how you avoid responsibility by denying that there’s a problem, and don't be surprised if the person you’re protecting turns around and bites the hand feeding them – yours.

Scorpio

Lovers (Queen of Cups)

The urge to merge is both a biological and spiritual phenomenon. By relating to another you become more aware of yourself. While love is often assigned as the motivating factor, there’s much more to it. Pay attention to what you feel emotionally triggered by – either positively or negatively. You’ll notice that you’re more attracted to traits you’re lacking and more averse to traits you have yet to accept in yourself. Relationships are a choice and who you choose to have in your life speaks volumes about who you are and what you value. How you allow someone to treat you also reflects how you feel about yourself. Take stock of the relationships in your life and notice what they are telling you.

Sagittarius

High Priestess (7 of Wands)

It takes courage to face your fears, and wisdom to study them. Certainly it’s more challenging when they seem so nebulous. It’s as if you know you should do something but feel paralyzed by doubts, insecurities and unsettling unknowns. To see clearly, you may first need to realize how you’ve acted in ways that oppose your sense of integrity. At least when you’re in touch with your inner self, the light of truth will give access to honest discernment. Release the need to be understood by others and learn to understand yourself: your moods, feelings and desires. Cultivating trust in yourself will help you confront the toughest situations.

Capricorn

Empress (5 of Wands)

The challenges you face this month will teach you to be more adaptable. Are you feeling like you’re striving, only to feel more immobilized? Do you feel restricted and doubtful? This frustration has a message relating to your creative expression. Ask yourself how what you do reflects who you are. Forget the petty obstacles and focus on more creative solutions. Have pride in your talents the way a mother dotes on her child. Give in to your conflicts by creating harmony with your surroundings – even those annoying coworkers deserve your compassion. As you become more patient, life becomes easier to manage.

Aquarius

Wheel of Fortune (Ace of Pentacles)

A new phase is developing in the realm of the material. This relates to work, finances or your body. Pertaining to the body, it could be a pregnancy, relationship, or dedication to a new health routine. In terms of work and finances, this an auspicious time to initiate plans for future expansion, and/or collect the rewards from past small investments. If given the chance to gamble, go for it. You will likely receive money or notoriety from a creative venture you undertook this year. You will either see positive results from past networking, or you’ll make future connections by following up on those past efforts. In any case, the ball is rolling – enjoy the momentum.

Pisces

Temperance (5 of Pentacles)

Through the integration of personal experiences a self-image is formed. Although it’s more convenient to identify with what’s positive, it’s more common to sub-consciously hold on to the negative. An example of this is when people commiserate and complain about their woes. Instead of focusing on what’s wrong, make an effort to transform it into something meaningful. When you feel fearful of losing something or someone, realize that loss is part of life and inevitably creates space. To connect with this inner knowing, it is necessary to find harmony instead of separation. Like a chef combines ingredients, so must you to make the most of your life.
