Frolicking Fae

By Terri C.

Using Brian & Wendy Froud's The Heart of Faerie Oracle

As I write out this month's reading, the leaves are turning yellow and falling to the ground.  The last of my strawberries are still on the vine, deciding to leaving a few for our Fae friends.  Everything is damp outside due to the "Seattle Mist."  We are having warm but wet weather, very strange for the Pacific Northwest.

For the beginning of the month, you might want to consider healing yourself.  We (especially readers) spend so much time helping and nurturing others that we often neglect ourselves.  It’s time to look within and see where we need to be nurtured, what needs to be fixed, is it something physical or something emotional?  Ask the Fae what you need to do to heal that part of you.  Then pay attention.  A message will come.  Then take action.  When you take the time to work on you, believe it or not, everyone else around you benefits as well.

After you look within and do a little healing work, you will receive even more benefit.  Just by taking care of yourself the universe will reward you.  This is when you will notice the obstacles that have been blocking your path will be removed.  You will feel that you can let go of all of the things that have held you back and you face the future without resistance.

As you enter the second week of the month, it is a time for you to pay attention to what is going on around you.  Listen, listen and then listen some more before you make up your mind on anything this week.  You might find yourself on a fact finding mission.  It is going to be okay, if that is the case, you will receive all of the information you need, you just need to listen.  You might also find yourself in the position of smoothing out someone else’s ruffled feathers.  Just remember there are two sides to every story, so listen to both sides and then help those involved see the situation from the center.

As you enter the third week of the month, why not spend a little time focusing on the relationships with those you are closest to.  Remember the feelings you had when you first came in contact with that person.  Remember how you felt, physically and emotionally.  Try to bring some of those feelings back into your relationship.  It is so easy to become jaded as relationships grow over the years.  Let those feelings go and return to how you felt when you first met.  Tell that person about your feelings from that time as if you were still feeling them now.  Then ultimately start experiencing those feelings once again.

This third week would also be a fabulous time to show our Earth some unconditional love.  Think about something that you can do to conserve our natural resources and make our world a better place.  Maybe it’s turning down your heat just a bit and putting on a sweater.  Maybe it’s sending healing energy to her.  Maybe it’s cleaning up the street in front of your home or picking up trash in a park.  Get your family and friends involved.  Then consider having a potluck at the end of the day.  Every little bit that we do makes our wonderful Mother Earth a better place.

The final week of the month, find joy and then pass it along to others.  Hold a door open for someone when entering a store.  Share a smile.  Drop of a bouquet of flowers at a nurse’s station at the hospital and ask them to give them to someone who needs them.  Do something unexpected for someone who wouldn’t expect it.

All in all, even though there is some work to do this month, the month of October appears to shape up quite nicely.

A nice stone to carry this month is Unakite.

UnakiteUnakite looks similar to the Bloodstone, but the Bloodstone is green and dark red, where a Unakite is green and a pinkish-orange.  Unakite is a combination of red jasper and green epidote. This stone has a calming, balancing energy.  It can be used to draw off negative energy.  It is also said to lift your spirits when you are down.  It also helps you see the beauty in life and it uncovers deception and helps the user find things that have been lost.   It can be used to open psychic vision and can be used for scrying.  If used in spell casting, Unakite will give the user more confident control of any spell.

For those of you who use the Moon for energy work, the New Moon is on the 7th and the Full Moon is on the 22nd.  Remember, the New Moon is for manifesting and the Full Moon is for releasing.

As always, I hope you find that this message from the Fae helps guide you through the ups and downs of this month!!  Remember to say a special little thank you to our Fae Friends for the guidance, insight and entertainment!

See you again, next month and keep the faith!
