If you live in an area that has an abundance of snow why not take advantage of the snow's natural magical properties. Snow is one of nature's purifiers and is very potent. It can be used to protect your home, to charge your magical tools, and it possesses healing properties. Snow is essentially water so it can be used with matters of passion, emotions, and relationships.

Gather some snow and let it melt. Once melted place it in a spray bottle and use it to mist your home using like you would a smudge stick. Feel free to add your favorite essential oil or even infuse it with crystal energy such as rose quartz.

Winter is a wonderful time to wash and charge all of your magical things. Cleansing with snow is similar to using a thousand quartz crystals. Take a handful of snow and put it in the wash with your favorite clothes. Crystals and other tools can be washed with melted snow or you could even bury them in the snow outside. Leave them overnight to fully charge.

For healing and spellwork, you can use snow in place of water for amplification. You can use snow water to wash away negative energy. You can freeze someone who is bothering you by writing their name on a slip of paper and pack it in a snowball. Place the snowball in a plastic bag and place in the freezer. Let them chill out. Looking to end a relationship? Write that persons name in the snow and let the relationship melt away. Snow water set out on the first day of spring can be used for fertility, growth, and new beginnings.

You can build a snowman with the intention of him guarding your home. Write your wishes in the snow and as it melts envision your wishes being released to the universe. Melt some snow in a shallow dish and use it for scrying.

Using snow and ice during the winter months keeps you connected to nature. This is just a small example of some of the magical ways to use snow and ice. Feel free to share yours and we may use them in an upcoming issue.
