Deck by Amato Shiotsuki

Lune - “Moon” in French + dori = “street” in Japanese. Tarot of the Lune dori is a very colorful 22-card Majors Only deck. This deck was created by psychotherapist and Japanese fortune teller Mr. Amato Shiotsuki.

The deck arrives in a tuck box inside of a plastic sleeve. There is a full-color page of thumbnail-sized card images with the card number and other notes about the card. These notes, however, are written in Japanese.

The bright images are drawn from history, science fiction, manga, and more. Each card frame color is different making spreads jazzy to look at. The cards measure 2-3/4" x 4-3/4" and have rounded corners. The card stock is flexible and has a very shiny laminate. The cards riffle bridge shuffle with ease and fan nicely.

The card backs feature a beautiful mandala in the center with waxing and waning moons in opposite corners. The backs are reversible friendly.

The card names are all traditional and Strength
is number 8 and Justice is 11.

There is a lot of movement and things happening in these cards. For example:

The Lovers
There is a young man playing piano and a young woman playing the violin in what appears to be a classroom setting. There is a clock on the wall there are autumn leaves floating through the air and also blanket the floor. There is a chalkboard in the background. There are speakers on a shelf and a boom box on the floor.

Strength
Stonehenge sits on a hill in the background while a lion and a young woman take center stage walking through hip-high grass. There are tree branches in the foreground and a white cockatiel sitting on a branch.

The Sun

An Aztec style Sun shines in the sky in the background. There are temples situated in the mountains in the distance along with an Aztec pyramid. In the foreground, a woman is dancing on the Milky Way with flashy skirts and veils.

One full-color page of thumbnail-sized card images with the card number and name with other notes about the card. These notes, however, are written in Japanese.

I would recommend Tarot of the Lune dori for those that have a working knowledge of the Rider-Waite-Smith system as there are no English documents included with this deck. It would make a wonderful deck for those who enjoy Manga or Anime.

I would love to see this deck expanded to a full 78-card deck and see a companion book
