Frolicking Fae

Frolicking Fae - September 2015
By Terri Clement

Using the Enchanted Oracle by Jessica Galbreth and Barbara Moore.

You simply can't make this stuff up! Looking at the draw for this month, once again, one would think that I hand selected these cards for this month. I can assure you that this definitely was not the case. I shuffled and shuffled and shuffled some more, with my focus being “What is the most important message to send for the month of September?” These in fact, were the first three cards off the top of the deck.

The colors in this draw are splendid for this time of year, fading greens, yellows, oranges, and sumptuous red. All perfect colors for transitioning into the fall season. Looking strictly at the colors the focus for September is life, death, renewal, hope, happiness, power, strength, desire, and most importantly love.

The beginning of the month is a time to find pleasure in the simple joys of life. This isn't a time to throw out all responsibility, but it's important to remember the old saying, “All work and no play...” - And no, this isn't a Stephen King, Shining reference. :D This is a reminder to do what needs to be done, but to make the time to do joyful things as well. Maybe you are working too hard or worrying too much? Make time to PLAY! Create plans with a friend, re-read your favorite novel, or maybe watch your favorite movie. The meaningful message is finding joy in the little things in life and allowing yourself to experience that.

Halfway through the month we will be shifting our summer thoughts to that of autumn! Cooler, brisk air moves in. The leaves are turning color and falling to the ground. It's time to bring out the cozy sweaters, spiced cider, and pumpkin spice everything.

Honor the change of the season. Autumn Equinox is right around the corner and we are poised between Light and Dark. This a very important time for the Fae, so be sure to celebrate them as well. Maybe take a glass of wine or cider outside, on the nearest full moon and toast the Fae. Drink a bit and then pour the rest on to a rock or the ground as an offering for the Wee Folk. Leave the last apple in the tree, the last berry on the vine to keep peace with the Friendly Ones.

This is a period to reflect quietly on your accomplishments of the year. This is not a time to be boastful, but instead sparkle and be confident in your triumphs.

Looking at the end of the month – the Faeries, I feel are giggling here as I turn over the card Spirit of Samhain. For me, it simply doesn't get any better than this. This is one of the most magickal times of the year. The Fae don't want it pushed all into a day or two. They want you to know you can start working with this powerful magick as early in the season as you get that little nudge. For some of you that might be in September, while others – maybe the week before Halloween. Know that this is a time when the veil between worlds is thinning. This is a fantastic time to do Tarot Readings and to connect with the Little People. Pay close attention to your intuition.

A nice stone to wear or carry this month is Red Jasper.

This is a stimulating but very protective stone. It is perfect to use as a “worry stone” during times of stress as it helps calm emotions. The Red Jasper can help with dream recall. It can also clean and stabilize the aura. The Red Jasper can absorb negative energy and help balance yin and yang. This stone can also clear environmental pollution. Red Jasper can help with quick thinking as it stimulates the imagination and can help motivate one to turn their ideas into action.

Red Jasper is known as a stone of health, helping with the circulatory system, blood and liver.

As always, I hope you find that this message from the Fae helps guide you through the ups and downs of this month!! Remember to say a special little thank you to our Fae Friends for the guidance, insight and entertainment!

See you again next month and keep the faith!
